Home Press Releases and Media Advisories Archive 2019 Archive On Tax Deadline Day, Comptroller Franchot to Visit CASH Campaign Site Nonprofit provides free tax preparation for low-income earners WHO: Comptroller Peter Franchot Sara Johnson, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer, CASH Campaign of Maryland Francesca Jean-Baptiste, Director of Tax Partnerships, CASH Campaign of Maryland WHAT: On the final day for Marylanders to file taxes without requesting an extension, Comptroller Franchot will visit the CASH Campaign of Maryland's tax preparation site at Northwest Community Action Center in Baltimore to thank volunteers for their hard work assisting local residents to file their returns this tax season The nonprofit CASH Campaign (Creating Assets, Savings, and Hope) and its partners provide free tax preparation services for low-to-moderate income earners in 18 of Maryland's 24 jurisdictions, including 13 locations in Baltimore City. Beyond tax preparation, the CASH Campaign helps families and individuals build a stable economic foundation by offering assistance with financial literacy skills, financial planning and tips on how to start a business.
